What exactly are the signs of pregnancy?
When a female hamster is pregnant, she will be very aggressive towards other hamsters. Thats why it is a must to separate hamsters if u think she's pregnant! Unfortunately for me, i didnt realise it early and my poor pearl white(male) was seriously injuried.
Is she hogging the food more often than before? she will store lots of food in her cheeks and then transport them to her nest to store.
Is she getting lazy? she doesn't seems to exercise as much as before.
After a week or so, u will notice that she's rather "fat" ( which women doesn't look fat when they are pregnant)
Turn her over, If her nipples are very obvious then there's a 99.9% chance she is pregnant!
The day before she give birth she will go "fasting" and she will be very busy building her nest. Make sure you change the bedding like 2-3 days before because once the puppies are out, changing the bedding will only terrify the mother. A terrified mother will eat her own puppies .
Make sure you do not touch the puppies! The mother will do her job herself!

SHe is definetly pregnent. All the the signs are clearly visible and i would suggest that you leave her alown for a while and when she has her babies don't toudd]ch her for 3 1/2 weeks because she will most likely eat her pups. Good Luck

Hi... i have a female winter white dwarf hamster, and my friend has one too. i had to go on vacation and when she came back to my house she was/is bigger, and she has a big nest, and she is also very grouchy, when she's usually nice, she keeps food in her cheeks, and drinks a lot. she is kinda slow in running but is carrying lots of bedding to her big nest. she had an upper nest with a tube that goes down but she moved down. i think she is pregnant. her nipples are kinda sticking out

I seriously cannot tell if my dwarf hamster is pregnant or not. She only shows a couple signs of being pregnant right now.. hey i just got my hamster in June/ July, and i got 2 hamsters. the lady in the pet shop said they were girls, but it turns out one was a boy... yesterday my hamster got pregnant and had 5 kids. 1 died before the other was born and when i came back to my house today another died. i think my maids moved the baby hamster... but could that cause it to die? and also the mom is bleeding around the cage. is that normal? what can i do to prevent anymore hamsters to die? and how could i stop the mom hamster from bleeding? Ok, my hamster storefood alot, like every minute in her nest, i put some tissue in her cage and some toilet paper in her cage and then i check todays later and its all in her cage, i put her in the males cage and she refuuses to mate, she bits him then runs away, i did this every evening for eight days to see if it was just becuz she wasnt in heat yet but she still does it and its been a week or so, she is still exersising a little but sleeps a lot, when she comes out she stores food and stuffs bedding in her moth then outs it in her cage, and when i go to grabe her to check her niples she runs around liek crazy and goes in her house so i leave her alone, i got her onces and she had very little niples, liek they were strill kinda small, but that was the fourth day after they mated, and i havnt been able to check her again, as i said, she runs around liek crazy so i leave her alone, is she pregnant?
